The Football Huddle

The Football Huddle, is where Colm Ahern, Andrew Knowles and Dan Murphy put their heads together and attempt to deconstruct the beautiful game, pass by pass. They might fail while doing so, but at least you can chuckle at their ineptness.

A tired-looking Spurs suffer defeat at the hands of Liverpool, which leads Andrew and Dan to discussion on the future of Pochettino and where Tottenham go from here. Wilfried Zaha isn’t happy because he’s getting targeted by opposition players, but the lads enjoyed his post-match interview. And Chris Smalling comes good as Man United beat Watford 2-1.

And things are starting to get a little tighter on the Win, Lose or Draw league table.

Ireland get hockeyed by Wales 4-1 as they're completely outclassed on the pitch, but it's the off-the-pitch drama that grabs the headlines as Roy Keane has altercations with both Jon Walters and Harry Arter. England lose out to Spain 2-1 as they lack someone in midfield who can control the game. And it's agreed that the UEFA Nations League is actually a good thing.

And Win, Lose or Draw continues to provide excitement due to the fact that no one will pick the same team as anyone else.

We still mightn't know who the Watford manager is, but he's doing sometihng right because he has Deeney back to is best and has his team beating Spurs 2-1. Petr Cech not fitting into Emery's system at Arsenal despite the team's 3-2 victory over Cardiff. Chelsea, meanwhile, seem to be reacting positively to their new manager and the Sarri way.

Warren Barton’s Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (the first and probably last one ever) includes a crybaby, a lazy story, and a diving header in Germany.

And Win, Lose or Draw is making Colm look like he knows what he's talking about.

Mourinho goes full meltdown as Man United lose 3-0 to Spurs thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Lucas Moura, Wolves' midfield of Neves and Moutinho (as well as the hand of Bony) help them get a point against Man City, and Arsenal get their first win of the season while Mesut Ozil sits it out.

Joey Barton’s Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (the last one ever) includes a couple of crisp packets, and an excited Marseille fan.

And Win, Lose or Draw makes Colm look like a betting king, somehow.

Things start to unravel for Man United already as they lose to Chris Hughton's Brighton, Man City absolutely demolish Huddersfield Town and put six past them, while Chelsea outplay Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Joey Barton’s Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (or maybe Paul Merson's Mad Magical Merriment) includes a wayward television in Bristol, and Lazio fans print out some backwards leaflets.

And Win, Lose or Draw looks at the cracker that is Leicester and Southampton.

Week one of the Premier League started as week 38 of last season finished, more or less, as all the bigger sides picked up points including a wonderful looking Liverpool, a fairly subpar looking Man United, and a Man City that didn’t even have to get out of second gear. However, in North London hasn’t started out for Unai Emery as he may have planned.

Joey Barton’s Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (although, a name change may be on the horizon) kicks off with a magic trick in Spain, a smoking room in West London, and a silly comment in the Sky Sports studio.

And Win, Lose or Draw begins with someone taking charge of the league table, and the risky predictions continue in week two.

Football is back (after a very, very, very short break), and that means The Football Huddle is back as well! With the Premier League season right around the corner, we bring you one of our favourite shows of the season: the BIG preview show.

Every single one of the 20 Premier League clubs detailed and discussed. Do Liverpool have enough firepower to dethrone Man City? How will Unai Emery change things at Arsenal? Is Fred the Red enough for United? And how about the three newbies: Wolves, Fulham, and Warnock FC? You won't get this anywhere else.

As well as that, we bring you the first Win, Lose or Draw of the season. Everyone's coming strong and correct out of the traps.

Let's go! FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL! EXCIEMENT (until Man City win 8 on the bounce and it's a foregone conclusion again)!

After a tournament of twists and turns, the World Cup 2018 is done and dusted for another four years, and it's come home to Jules Rimet's birth place of France.

Whilst it could be argued that Luka Modric and co. had the better of their opponents for a lot of the final, France ultimately proved they were the best team in the competition and won their second ever World Cup, 20 years after their first.

As well as that, the lads look at England's exit from the competition, the failure of the superstar, and some predictions that were made before a ball was kicked.

Thanks for listening to our World Cup specials! We'll be back in a few weeks as we turn our attention to the Premier League. Exciting!

It continues to make its way back towards where it's from as England beat Sweden, but the lads argue whether it was comfortable or not. Roberto Martinez deserves some credit for Belgium's victory over Brazil, A Cavani-less Uruguay get beaten by France, and Croatia scrape through against hosts Russia.

As well as that, the trio look to the semi-finals, the destruction of a furniture store, and English fans being told what 'It's Coming Home' is in Irish.

The second round of the World Cup gave us quality, drama and all of the narrative! England, shock horror, win a penalty shootout at a World Cup after being in a slobberknocker with Colombia, while Kylian Mbappe has a star-making performance as France beat Argentina 4-3.

As well as that, Russia shock everyone but themselves as they beat Spain on penalties, Uruguay continue as the tournament's dark horses, and Nacer Chadli proves to be an unlikely hero.

As shocking as it is, Germany are out of the World Cup. But is it a shock? Really? England and Belgium field second string sides in an effort to get the 'easy' draw. And the group stages are done -- it's business time as we go straight into the knockouts.

As well as that this Football Cuddle looks at the eight ties that make up the second round and predict who'll make it through to the quarter finals.

Sure, Panama looked like one of the worst teams to ever play the sport, but England still got the job done and now turn their attention to the first test: Belgium.

Germany were mere seconds away from being knocked out of the World Cup at the hands of Sweden, but came back to defeat them 2-1 thanks to a glorious Toni Kroos free kick.

As well as that the lads turn their attention to the final group games in the tournament and try to predict who'll play who in the second round.

NOW we're in the swing of things.

Colm and Andrew look at Argentina's poor showing at the 2018 World Cup so far and how they can still qualify for the second round, Bobby Firmino coming off the bench to change the fortunes of Brazil against Costa Rica, and Iran coming close to getting something off of Spain.

As well as that, the lads look at the rest of the games from groups A through E, and give a little preview of what we can expect from this weekend's games including England vs Panama.

After a longer absence than we were planning, The Football Huddle is back with our big World Cup 2018 preview show!

Joking lol.

We look at England's relationship with the media, and how they fared against poorer opposition in their first game against Tunisia. Germany don't get off to the best of starts after losing 1-0 to Mexico, and Portugal vs Spain is an all-time classic.

As well as that, we give a general run down of the tournament so far and look at how the favourites aren't exactly setting the world on fire.

This Champions League final will be remembered for many things, but most will probably never forget the mistakes of young Liverpool keeper Loris Karius. But, let's not forget the wondergoal of Gareth Bale -- a Gareth Bale that isn't too sure of his future.

As well as that, the lads discuss Sergio Ramos' tactics, his tackle on Mo Salah, and whether or not you'd have him on your team. And Cristiano Ronaldo found a way to get his name out there by asking for the trophy to be named after him. Nice thought, isn't it?

On top of that, Fulham find themselves back in the Premier League after defeating Aston Villa in the most expensive game in world football, while Rotherham and Coventry are also victorious in their respective finals.

But, what you're really here for, is to find out who won Win, Lose or Draw. There's no need for a recount. We have a decisive champion.

It may have been Antonio Conte's last game in charge at Chelsea, but still, Eden Hazard's penalty was enough to defeat Man United and see the club win their eighth FA Cup. Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, wasn't too fond of their play style, but what's new there?

There's been a lot of managerial changes in the Premier League postseason including Pellegrini for Moyes and another departure for Big Sam, but Unai Emery is stealing the headlines as he's all set to take the Arsenal job under the nose of Mikel Arteta.

Gareth Southgate has named the 23 players that will be in England's World Cup squad and there were a few notable omissions and inclusions.

And, as well as that, it's going down to the wire. Win, Lose, or Draw will be decided on the final game of the season like all good title races.

The Premier League season is officially over, which means it's time for a special bumper edition of The Football Huddle: the 2017-18 season review!

Are Man City one of the all-time great teams and do we back the Centurions nickname? Who is going to replace Arsene Wenger and can they bring glory back to Arsenal? Is a lack of spending from Daniel Levy holding Spurs back? Is Jose Mourinho a bully? Between Hodgson, Benitez and Dyche, who had a better season? Is Mo Salah the best Egyptian to ever come to the Premier League or is it still Mido? We answer some of these questions and more in almost two and a half hours.

As well as that, we look back at our predictions we made at the start of the year and see who does actually know this sport quite well and who needs to hand in their football and badge.

There are two more games to play this year, though, so we continue on with Win, Lose, or Draw. It's going down to the wire.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where it’s far more exciting than the Premier League.

Xherdan Shaqiri’s goal couldn’t keep Stoke City in the Premier League as the club fell to Crystal Palace and into The Championship. West Bromich Albion keep the dream alive with heroics against Spurs -- at least until Swansea and Southampton tomorrow night. And Arsene Wenger said goodbye to the Emirates for the final time.

Dan Murphy pops in to update the goings on in with his beloved Bolton Wanderers and the much-maligned Neil Warnock, while Andrew goes through the events of a snippy El Clasico and Napoli’s continued whimpering conclusion to their season.

Joey Barton’s Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (In Memoriam until the end of the Season) involves some Ribena and a discussion on Steven Gerrard’s decision to become Rangers manager.

The scoreline in the Champions League semi-final between Liverpool and Roma flattered the Italian club, because while Liverpool's defence fell to the pieces in the second leg, Jurgen Klopp's boys were still definitely the better side overall -- and that's without an assistant manager. Bayern Munich could've done with a bit of luck against Real Madrid as they looked to stop the three in a row, but the born winners of the Bernabéu are out to make history.

The Premier League chat is relegated to a bit of a bounce around this week as Wenger is celebrated because he isn't a threat, and attention turns to the relegation zone which might actually give us something to talk about as we come to this season's conclusion. On top of that, it's all to play for when it comes to playoff places  and relegation in The Championship, and Napoli have basically thrown away Serie A.

The return of Joey Barton's Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (In Memoriam until the end of the Season) involves a man and his crane, some pundit banter, and the lovely James Milner.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where one man's end of season form is taking the league table by storm.

After 22 years in charge, Arsene Wenger has announced that he won't be manager at Arsenal come the end of the season, but what does this mean for the future of the club (and Arsenal Fan TV). In the FA Cup, Manchester United and Chelsea grab their places in the final. And Sunderland have been relegated from The Championship.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where the title race is far more interesting than the Premier League.

Manchester City are the Premier League champions 2017/18; it's not like you didn't see this happening, but what you mightn't have predicted is that they'd be awarded the title after Manchester United lost 1-0 to West Brom. The only team that have Man City's number is Liverpool as they confirm their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and Gigi Buffon doesn't do himself any favours after Juventus' loss to Real Madrid.

Joey Barton's Banterrific Banterman Bonanza (In Memoriam) includes an unlikely goalscorer and a circus bear, obviously.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where the comeback is on.

Manchester City have a horrendous week as Guardiola's men lose 3-0 to Liverpool in the Champions League and 3-2 to Manchester United in the Premier League. Everton and Liverpool's derby doesn't produce as many fireworks as the Manchester variant. And Harry Kane wants the goal that isn't his, and by God he's going to have that goal that isn't his.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where an abstaining Dan Murphy gets lucky.

Spurs beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as Dele Alli reminds everyone he’s not a bad player. Manchester City destroy Everton as they edge even closer to the Premier League title. And Alan Pardew’s time at West Brom, and potentially Premier League management for good, is done.

The Three Lions roar in Amsterdam as Gareth Southgate's lads beat the Netherlands, and Dan is most definitely in it for the long haul. Elsewhere non-essential international friendlies took place. Good craic.

Joey Barton's Banterrific Banterman Bonanza sees a comeback for the ages, a t-shirt argument, and something Neil Warnock related.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where points are actually won.

Manchester United may have beaten Brighton and sealed their place in the final four of the FA Cup, but without the island of personality that is Nemanja Matic, where would they be? Chelsea, Southampton and Spurs join them in the final stages of the FA Cup and there's a lot riding on this competition for all involved. In the Premier League, Mo Salah continues to shine as Liverpool demolish Watford 5-0.

The Champions League quarter finals have been drawn with the all England affair of Man City and Liverpool interesting most over on this side of the world, and Real Madrid vs Juventus exciting most others. Speaking of Real, Cristiano Ronaldo has remembered how to play football, but it's a little too late for a La Liga surge.

Joey Barton's Banterrific Banterman Bonanza sees a Newcastle fan kick Sunderland while their down, and Vodafone reward their customers.

All this plus Win, Lose, or Draw where we only play for 90 minutes.
